LET’S LOVE
LOVE YOUR BODY, MIND, AND SOUL.
LOVE THE WORLD.
There's a level of observation that educates, informs, teaches and inspires. And then there's a point where it just becomes an overindulgence in passive consumption. It becomes an excuse to be spared of others' observations and judgments. An excuse to not participate fully in life. Cause when you hold back, no one can knock you down.

What are cravings? Are they good or bad? Some cravings are rooted in old, unhealthy emotional attachments in the body. Other cravings give helpful clues about what your body and being need for better health and forward movement. How do we know which is which?
Do you brush your teeth because a dentist scared you into doing it? Or because you've seen pictures of damaged, diseased teeth? Do you do it because your parents said you should? Or because it's just an automatic routine in your life, and it's 'just what we do'? Or do you do it because you know without a doubt that it's good for you and so you enjoy doing it? What is the motivation behind the things that we do every day?
We get so caught up with the goal, the destination, we forget about the beauty and fun of the ride. Yes, this concept is already superrrr cliché, we've heard it many times. But today this message came in strong. I was leaving my house with one goal in mind: must have delicious smoothie in my mouth. NOW. It was all I could think about, nothing else mattered, and I couldn't wait another second. I jumped on my scooter, on my mission to go get said smoothie, and as I'm driving all that's going on in my head is 'smoothie, smoothie, smoothie.' But suddenly the road had different plans for me.
People ask me, do you really live on a tropical island? Your life is just paradise? The short answer- Yes, but I call it Paradise..with a twist. It's a yummy cocktail, but there is definitely still a sour twist. It's not just sunshine, rainbows, butterflies and unicorns ALL the time. Sometimes the unicorns take a break. They book themselves a vacation on some other island, and when they leave, a whole swarm of mosquitoes come to take their place.
People ask me, so there is sunshine, luscious greenery, fresh coconuts, breathtaking sunsets, starry skies and clear turquoise sea with white beaches? Yes. It's absolutely gorgeous, and I feel so grateful and blessed every single day. Wow, and you have all the healthy food options served to you right outside your doorstep? And friendly, smiley, open-minded tourists from all over the world who are looking to explore, expand their perspectives, know themselves deeper and heal together? Mmmhmmm. And you guys all have this amazing community with tons of events and offerings every day like dance, yoga, all kinds of healing, fun and play…and it's all super affordable??? Um, yeah. So your life is totally carefree and perfect??! Sorry my friend, no. Life is still life. I am still human. Everyday problems and challenges still arise. And as trite as it is, wherever you go, there you are. No matter how many fairies, frolicking hippies and beach sunsets you throw into the mix. We are always just repeating the first recipes that were ever originated. Someone invented pasta, pizza, falafel, pad thai, all these incredible, unique and delicious things. Why can no one do this now? Why are there NO new epic dishes being created? Why are the best chefs only still making the same dishes with small twists and variations? Ooh, truffle oil drizzle, cardamom-flavor, another exotic creature that sounds interesting. But nothing they create is ever craved by you again later, it just doesn't hit that spot of comfort. Is it that we don't have the social communities anymore that created long, strong traditions around certain foods? Or is it because our need for food in general is slowly dying out as our bodies become lighter, and the only relationship we have to food now is holding onto the memories we made in the past?
There's actively creating positive energy in your life, and then there is an ability to be okay with what already is. This is New Age vs. ancient, wise & timeless spiritual philosophies like Hinduism and the Tao. Of course, a lot of the New Age has its roots in ancient wisdom too. But things like positive affirmations, focusing on positive thoughts to create and manifest a positive reality, are more of a modern approach of active participation.
Somehow we think we need to battle between these two options for philosophies and belief systems. We do not. It's an integrated balance of the two, of old and new. A balance of timeless wisdom and fresh evolution & creativity. After the 60's time of total revolution-- serious hippie, political, sexual, spiritual revolution, working hard to push boundaries and the status quo and create SERIOUS CHANGE. After this heavy time of war and more war fighting against having the wars, the 70's emerged-- the time to boogie! We often dismiss this time period and I know the younger generations look at it with disdain, we don't honor or respect that time at all! We all know the classic tunes, the typical dance moves from Saturday night fever with John Travolta, and we all loved rocking those bell bottoms. But it's usually regarded as a silly, ridiculous period that no one wants to ever talk about again. Why do we pass over this incredible time and message of wild expression and fun?
What if sex and sexual energy was never deemed anything different or separate from any other regular part of your body and your life? What if it was never thought of as bad, shameful, ugly, disturbing, inappropriate, wrong, dirty, seedy, slutty, degrading, disrespectful, angry, violent or shady? What if it was so normalized to just feel every part of our body equally? What if it was acceptable, dare I say it, to even love our entire body? What if we were all on board with feeling pleasure and excitement? What if the pleasure of enjoying our own bodies was considered to be beautiful, normal and it was encouraged, instead of being some dark devilish 'mistake' that needs to be expelled from our lives? What if the religious could see the fallacy in believing in an all-knowing and all-powerful God that would create bodies providing immense sexual pleasure, only to supposedly condemn, deny and shame it? What if we honored ourselves and the gift of feeling good in our own bodies?
In the midst of a period where I felt I lost myself--leaving behind mediation, leaving behind my values and belief systems, things that I knew to be true about who I really am--I forgot that I also abandoned my connection to my sexual energy and my body. When I started to reconnect to my body and my sexual energy, things started to make sense again.
